Welcome to the Lost & Found archive, featuring photographs and reports from our evenings as well as information about the participating artists. All flyers have been photographed; their materiality is visible, with corners, folds, and relief retaining their tactile quality on screen.This site takes the form of a growth model and behaves as a work in its own right: it is always, and never, finished. The site functions as an archive and is not updated regularly; if you wish for a change or update, you may submit a request.
Since 1997, over 200 sessions of stray images and sound have been organised. Artists, writers, scientists and musicians present work in progress, experiment or present work that doesn't fit into their oeuvre (yet). A specific and unique stage for diverse and hybrid works which don't fit comfortably into galleries or museums.

Fotografe Sanne de Wilde (Belgie, 1987) presenteert haar project ‘The Dwarf Empire’. Zij bezocht in de Chinese provincie Yunnan, het attractiepark ‘World Ecological Garden of Butterfly’ waarin ‘The Land of Dwarves’ gehuisvest is. Dit letterlijke dwergenland is opgericht door de heel rijke Chen Mingjing. Hij presenteert het attractiepark als een goed doel, dwergen krijgen in China namelijk geen financiële ondersteuning en in het park kunnen ze wonen en werken. Al is ‘wonen’ in de dwergen-huisjes, een groot woord aangezien ze onderdeel van het park zijn en de 77 dwergen tweemaal daags een show moeten opvoeren. Het daadwerkelijke wonen wordt in een flat in een buitenwijk gedaan, waar ze met z’n allen een soort schaduw-samenleving vormen.
De Belgische fotografe is een knappe, blonde westerlinge. Terwijl ze de dwergen ongeveer drie weken op de voet door het park volgt om ze te fotograferen, is ze voor de toeristen die naar de dwergen-shows komen kijken onderdeel van het aangeboden entertainment.
