everything floats on with small abstract breaks

Josefin Arnell

Mothers of Lost & Found are nervous but yet excited. Geo has banned their usually hosting task of giving the audience a feeling of safety with their presentation talks. I see Julia and Alma later sitting across the room, alert looking around wonder if everything is going as planned.

It´s different then other Lost & Found nights, everything floats on with small abstract breaks, in-between transformations of recorded noise and a very special organ that only very professional musicians are aloud to play on. off><zz is mastering it´s sound, rumbling and dark, massive like a freighting film and gives the dark space a total atmosphere of spookiness. It plays on and off when ever it wants, on top of other performances, in between and a little bit here and there, like special effects it interrupts, accomplish.

A Dracula child stares on confused faces when trying to find the perfect spot to sit. It´s hard for the audience to decide, cos chairs are spread out through the room one by one. We understand that performances gonna happen on different spots in the space. Geo walking a bit around in his special performance glasses checking things. Turns out Margaret and I sit in the way for Sam Keogh´s fashion walk, when we get the spotlights flashes right in our eyes.

Hayley Silverman is behind a cryptic appearance of a dog moving around the space with a speaker on itself. It´s a man voice with old American accent, sometimes a women Irish or British perhaps. I have no idea what they talk about because I try to figure out in the dark where the sound comes from until I see the dog with speakers on :). Like some kind of cartoony doubt character. Dog seams unaware of what is going on, like don’t give so much of a shit and have size medium in dog size. It goes lie down between some people to get back to ”owner” that is trying to direct it with candy. Later dog try to get out from the space longing to the other side of the glass walls. And further in the night an other dog in the audience barks very high.

Sam Keogh is doing something what I would refer to a pre-spring 2017 fashion show It´s important to prepare your garments in time for the season. Modelling in his own accessories and garments he is inspired by the crime scene of Versace himself, that was shot murdered close to his mansion on Miami beach, July 15, 1997. He is presenting his collection for a potential buyer - a figure made of bits of sticks and bleached corals while describing carefully the concept and answering questions. Giving every piece a full on runway walk with horror organ by off><zz. Wetsuit corps, seaweed organ blood, plant minerals, murder reflection, marble flesh based on their spine, alfa preparing the body to be butchered, mud covered immortality saved from sea-monster, medusa aliens with shit in the eye and a red full body size plastic transparent piece that shows a lot of skin.

More death. Bea McMahon sings an Irish song that can bring the most evil frozen heart into softness tears. First accompanied by some undefined far away conversation noise from a Christmas dinner perhaps Geo once had with his parents. Noise escapes and Bea´s high pitched voice filled with sorrow tells about a women who planned her funeral in details and the place of being buried, but later experience death exile when her wish don’t go through. It´s very sad.

Very intense horror organ by off><zz again - most aggressive this time, almost offensive and transforms Roger Cremer family story into cruelty: Roger Cremer´s ancestors had once a dreadful cat, a look filled with satan and a grandfather that drove around the streets in Brussels on a beautiful chrome motorbike. He wore suspicious leather gloves and a perfect matched leather suit. A family filed with (love) priest and generals. Very old but nicely preserved photos. They had a crystal collection. 1+1. His grandma got traumatized by the dust from the war and came to the conclusion: If I can´t clean I will die - later she was found dead with a cloth in her hand. I laugh all the time because it´s awkward with the organ but very amusing and Roger is a great storyteller and his grandpa seams like a cool man.

Dark curtain being pushed like doomsday is close without audience information, some were very confused what´s behind there? As if the Dracula child will pop out and eat them all. The curtains are so massive and practical and we learn how advanced the rails can transform the space, to later go back were it started. This is one of my favorite moment.

Sam Samiee is present on a screen on the wall. Img_7587. His face is so laughing and cute. and I wish he was there in the room. He walk around his studio with the camera close up face, while telling intense words, as he always translate his favorite poems. Bag of memories of my shaking shoulders, Bad hand and bad humans, What has remain for me, accept fake image in a window, Singing although my lips are closed.

Everyone dance with extra focus on going low, grinding with the floor. Jay Tan is always cheering a dance floor up. People are happy, tipsy, looking at the giant cruising ships that passes the window. Someone is climbing a pole that is connected to the high ceiling. Then Geo does the same but even higher and Julie tells something that looks upsetting to her dancing husband that have taken of his t-shirt by this point. People start to plan an after-party and later there is a great story about a van experience.
