Welkom op het Lost & Found archief met foto’s en verslagen van onze avonden en informatie over de deelnemende kunstenaars. De websites van de kunstenaars zijn hier gepubliceerd, zodat ze direct benaderd kunnen worden. Alle flyers zijn gefotografeerd. De materialiteit is goed zichtbaar; hoekjes, vouwtjes en reliëf behouden op het scherm hun tactiele kwaliteit. Deze site heeft de vorm van een groeimodel en gedraagt zichzelf ook weer als een werk; het is altijd en nooit af. De site is een archief en wordt niet regelmatig bijgewerkt; als je een wijziging of actualisering wenst, kun je een verzoek sturen.

Sinds 1997 heeft Lost & Found meer dan 200 avonden voor verdwaalde beelden en geluiden samengesteld. Kunstenaars, schrijvers, wetenschappers en muzikanten laten werk in ontwikkeling zien, experimenteren of tonen werk dat (nog) niet in hun oeuvre past. Een specifiek en uniek podium voor divers en hybride werk dat in een museaal circuit geen plaats heeft.

  1. Fiorucci made me hardcore

    Fiorucci Made Me Hardcore consists of edited-together footage of dancers in nightclubs that, on the one hand, charted a history from 1970s northern soul to 1990s acid house; and, on the other, conveyed the pulsing, ecstatic, out-of-mind glory of the dancefloor in a churning, heady rush. The work is perfumed with wistfulness and tinged with ghostliness. It speaks of an evanescent youth: the time codes on the amateur video footage tick away ruthlessly, as eloquent a memento mori as the skull in the corner of a Holbein. The title, Leckey said, was about the notion that “something as trite and throwaway and exploitative as a jeans manufacturer can be taken by a group of people and made into something totemic, and powerful, and life-affirming.” He made it in a kind of ecstatic fugue. “I cried while I was making it. I make this stuff to feel joy and melancholy and sweet-sadness.”
